1) Description

The Task Settings Interface is the last step in creating a task.

Here you can configure the description, task execution, task logging and notifications of your task runs.


2) Task Details

The task details are used to keep your tasks organized by naming it and giving it a description.

The details given here are displayed in the task overview of the Homepage:


3) Task Activation

3.1 Activate Destination(s)

When using multiple Targets you can choose which destination should be enabled.

In case of a single destination the destination has to be activated in order to make the task functional (active).

3.2 Activate Auto-Repeat

Activating Auto-Repeat will make the task repeat 3 times when it fails to execute.

This is particularly useful when the task fails due to a timeout on the Destination platform.


4) Task Automation

Task Automation removes the need to manually execute the task.

Automation can be based on time or a specific event happening in SyncSpider or the Source Integration.

You can select multiple triggers that will activate the task. Both events and Schedule based combined.

4.1 Schedule

Automating your task by Schedule will make the task run at the time specified by the options listed below:

4.1.1 Hourly

Scheduling your task Hourly allows you to select an Interval in Hours and Minutes that your task will be executed. The maximum interval is 12 Hours and 59 Minutes.

4.1.2 Daily

Scheduling your task Daily allows you to select as specific time that the task will be executed at each day.

4.1.3 Weekly

Scheduling your task Weekly allows you to select specific days of the week and a specific time in those days to execute the task.

4.1.4 Monthly

Scheduling your task Monthly allows you to select a specific day and time of the month to execute the task.

4.2 On event

Automatic task runs On Event allows the task to be executed when an action is performed in the Source Platform, a SyncSpider task or through a URL Trigger.

Multiple events can be selected at the same time.

4.2.1 Webhook Trigger

This trigger activates the task when a specific event happens in the Source.

The event options may vary on the Webhook capabilities of the Source.


4.2.2 Task Succeeded

An event can also be a completion of any other task on your SyncSpider account.

4.2.3 URL Trigger

A trigger through URL can be used in the execution of a script or as a button on a webpage.

e.g.

An embedded button in WordPress used to run the task without leaving your webstore.


5) Task Logging

While our task execution logs take you step by step through the whole task run, turning the additional task logging allows you to see the exact JSON requests and responses between the integrations.

This can greatly help with the troubleshooting processes and pinpointing any possible errors during the transfer of data.

To access the logs, head over to your dashboard and click the "Task Log" button as shown below:

Here you will be able to access the logs of the last days based on the date.

The Log entries can then be inspected and sorted based on the following data:


6) Email Notifications

This feature allows you to be notified via email whenever a task succeeds or fails. Depending on the frequency of task runs, consider turning on the notifications for failed tasks only, as to not get overwhelmed with emails.
